Baby Games: Four Baby Games to Keep the Party Interesting
Baby showers are a time for joy and laughter. Mix in some games and the baby shower party can really take off. You may not realize it but there are plenty of games to play. You don’t even have to be rich to play them. When you are putting a baby shower together, let your imagination run away with you. However, should you stumble and need some help, you have several places you can look to give you some ideas. These places can help you find the games you’d be interested in playing.
One game that can be played can be quite profitable to the expectant mother and baby. Have each guest pull out spare change. It starts by one person saying they’ve never done something in their entire lives. For instance, they never snuck out of the house after bedtime, stolen from a store, etc. If a deed is mentioned that a guest has done, they are required to place money into a jar. Once everyone has gone, the jar is then given to the expectant mother. (If you decide to play this game, be sure to let your guests know ahead of time so that they are aware of it.)
Another baby shower idea will take some doing. Call in a person who the mother-to-be does not know. Invite them to the event with the stipulation that they must wear odd clothing, bring with them a large goodie bag of baby items and be late. When this person arrives, act as if you are upset with them for barging in on the party and insist they should you their invitation. This person should then sit on the floor where everyone can see and empty out the bag to find the invitation. Once shown, ask them to put the items away and turn to the guests asking them to write down everything that they just saw come out of the bag and back in. The person who has the most items written wins a prize. The expectant mother should be allowed to keep the bag.
Try this Kodak game moment. Buy an assortment of chocolate and a small pack of diapers. Melt some of the chocolate and place it in the diaper. Be sure you number the diapers and write this down where only you can see the information. Let each guest smell the diaper and write down what chocolate they believe is emanating from it. The guest who was able to guess the most diapers correctly is the winner. Take photographs of people, as they smell the diaper.
Another game that can be played requires clothespins. Each person is given a certain number of pins and will lose them if they say the word baby. If someone catches another person saying the word, they gain a clothespin from them. The guest with the most clothespins wins the game.
These are only four games of the many that can be played at baby showers. You don’t have to do all of them and you can certainly do variations. All you have to do is use your own creativity and keep the word “fun” in mind.
