Baby Shower Corsage How To Make Your Own

Baby showers are wonderful celebrations that involve honoring the future baby and showering his or her parents with gifts. An extra special way to show your love for the baby is with a corsage. Wearing a baby shower corsage is a sweet act to symbolize the importance of the upcoming birth and honor the new baby.

It is also a great way to add to the fun of the celebrations; it looks great when everyone is wearing corsages in the baby shower pictures. Of course, there are many baby shower corsages to choose from in the shops and you will certainly be spoiled for choice but why not be creative and make your own?

A baby shower corsage will save you money and add a personal touch. If you decide to make corsages for all baby shower guests, homemade is definitely the way to go. Your guests will adore the thought and the mom-to-be will be touched by your efforts. Read on to find out how to create some gorgeous baby shower corsages.

Lily Corsage

These are elegant corsages that your guests will love. First, you will need to gather the materials. Pop into your local florist and collect one large, white lily per guest, some cuttings of ivy vines (baby size) and a packet of florist’s wire. Next, buy some attractive ribbon and pins from a craft shop.

Cut the lily’s stem to about three inches long. Using the florist’s wire, tie the ivy to the lily. Place one ivy on each side of the lily but play around with it until you find a look you like. Cut the ribbon into lengths and tie each into a pretty bow. Tie each bow onto the corsage and make any necessary adjustments. Store the lily corsage in the refrigerator until the time of the baby shower when you can use the pins to attach the corsages to guest’s clothes.

Quirky Corsage

This is a cute joke corsage made for the mom-to-be that will add some fun to the baby shower. First, gather a small packet of baby wipes, some ribbon, a clothes peg and a pin. Pull a few wipes through the packet opening and readjust them to look like a flower.

Tie a few lengths of ribbon into small bows and secure these to the packet. Next, clip the peg onto the packet and secure it to the mom-to-be’s blouse with the pin. This corsage is a joke aid for nappy changing time - hence the peg for the nose and the baby wipes for the baby’s bottom.

Craft and baby stores will have many more ideas for corsages or you could have a look online. Provided you don’t use fresh flowers, guests can even keep your lovely creations as souvenirs. Keep in mind that it’s the thought that counts; the mom-to-be will be touched that you wanted to honor her precious baby in such a sweet way.
