Baby Shower Party Supplies Here Is Your Checklist!

If you’re in charge of organizing a baby shower, no doubt you’ve already collated a long list of tasks to complete. With so many things to do, however, sometimes collecting the key baby shower party supplies is overlooked. There are four main groups of supplies that are required for a baby shower:

- Decorations

- Tableware and silverware

- Materials for games

- Party favors

Decorations

Planning the shower decorations is usually the first task the hostess will consider. Banners, balloons and streamers are often the primary things that will come to mind when thinking about the event. However, it is common for the organizer to fall short on decoration supplies. Make sure you have decided exactly where your banners, balloons and streamers will go so that you can calculate a realistic estimate of how many of each you will need.

Tableware and Silverware

Food and drink is typically served at baby showers so of course you will need plates, cutlery and glasses. Calculate how many guests you have and exactly what food and drink will be served, in order to know how much you will need. It is always good to have a few extras so you don’t have to wash anything during the shower if someone drops their cutlery or breaks a glass. Consider the tone of the event and whether you want formal tableware or disposable; this also applies for tablecloths. Don’t forget to purchase napkins, serving spoons and serving platters.

Materials For Games

If the baby shower involves games, you will need to make a list of all the props you need, as well as prizes. For example, if you plan to have the ‘What’s in the Nappy?’ game, you will need diapers as well as strong-smelling food items such as lemon juice and chili sauce. If you’re doing a round of ‘How big is the Belly?’ you’ll need string, scissors and a tape measure. Keep in mind that most games will require pencils and paper, as well as prizes.

Party Favors

Loot bags or party favors are an often-forgotten part of baby shower party supplies. Favors are a lovely way to thank your guests for their attendance and gifts. Consider your guests and the theme of the party when choosing the trinkets. Always make sure you have a few extras just in case there are a few extra guests.
