Baby Shower Plates Make Them Unique!

Are you in charge of hosting a baby shower? If so, then you have a bit of work to do. The first thing you need to do is decide where to hold the shower. Do you plan to hold it in your home or a friend’s home? Would you rather the party be in a public setting such as a buffet restaurant?

Now you need to get the shower theme and style planned out. Once you’ve narrowed down your baby shower theme, it is time to come up with the baby shower decorations and tableware.

The type of theme you have gone with often dictates your decorations and tableware as well as the mood you are trying to go with. Your tableware will need to consist of baby shower plates, cups, silverware, tablecloths and more.

If you have a formal baby shower in mind, make sure your baby shower plates and other tableware pieces are elegantly designed and made up of ceramic or china. Yet, if you are planning a baby shower that’s a little more laid-back, consider using disposable tableware such as paper plates or plastic forks/spoons. If you choose to go this route, you can get very creative and design your own baby shower plates.

Design Your Own Baby Shower Plates

When you choose to make your own plates for the baby shower, you need certain information such as the number of guests that are invited and the number of courses being served. You can make the exact number of plates to match the guest number but it’s very wise to create up to five more in case other people show up.

Now if you plan to have more than one course, you need to figure out if guests will use the same plate or use different plates. Are you going to need dessert plates for the baby shower cake?

After you’ve gotten the number of people planning to come to the shower, you’ll need to think of the theme. Can you use it to come up with your designs? Perhaps you can use a picture on the plates? Remember you can purchase plates with the specific storybook character or pattern in the center.

If you can’t find the exact ones you are after, simply use plates that feature a similar style or motif. Is there a designated color scheme at the baby shower? Your plates should reflect this. If the shower as no theme, you could choose plates with generic baby prints on them such as a stork or a newborn baby or even a cute saying about motherhood. You could also opt for a plain center with a patterned trim.

You can even incorporate baby shower plates into the actual event. A great idea is to number each plate and pick one number out of a box with the winner receiving a small prize. The numbers can also be used to organize teams or playing order for games. If you have opted for formal plates, you could substitute name cards with numbers underneath them.

Use your creativity and jazz up those baby shower plates so they not only look fantastic and add to the theme but are also an important part of the day’s activities.
