Eight Games to Play for Baby Shower Entertainment

When you throw a baby shower for expectant parents, there’s not much more special than that which lets them know you care for them and their unborn child. Close friends or relatives of the expectant mother and/or father typically throw a baby shower. However, usually everyone has a chance to work together and see the event through. Still, baby showers are a time for fun. When parents talk about what they expect out of life and what they hope for the child, everyone gets psyched about it. Friends may shop together to find gifts for the baby. They may seek the latest styles found in baby fashion or supplies. Still, other friends may look to out where to hold the baby shower.

Some baby showers last an hour while others last nearly three hours. This time difference usually depends on how small or big the event is. No matter how many people show up, it’s always good to have some baby shower games to play. If you know how many people are coming (and you should roughly) then plan how many games you’ll play around that amount. You can choose some games that will offer experienced parents to give insight to the mother-to-be. The real purpose behind the games isn’t to win; it’s about sharing with the mother-to-be in the good times of a wonderful and beautiful event.

When you are planning a baby shower, here are eight games for your consideration to play at the event:

- Name Game: Guests will try to make baby names out of certain given letter(s).
- Feeding Time: Guests will to have scoop out cotton balls while blindfolded.
- Rice Bowl: Guests will hunt for safety pins in rice blindfolded.
- Baby Guests: Each guest has a baby photo. Match the baby with the guest.
- Baby Bingo: It’s bingo with baby words instead of numbers.
- Shower Gift Bingo: Guests guess what are in baby shower gifts.
- Round the Tummy: Guests use yarn or ribbons to see whose is long enough to get around the tummy.
- Poopy Diaper: Melt bars of chocolate, place in disposable diapers and let guests smell them. They’ll try to guess which candy bar is in which diaper.

When you do any of these games, especially Poopy diaper, keep a camera nearby to take pictures of your guests. These are memories that can last a lifetime. You’ll also need door/game prizes for your guests.

Before baby shower date arrives, it is essential to get your supplies and pick a place to hold the baby shower. Have everything ready before your guests arrive on that day. Doing so keeps you from having to prep the party. Instead you can direct how games will be played along with other activities. If you choose to have the party in your home, there are three things you should consider. They are:

- Do you have the space to hold all the guests?
- Where are the gifts going to go?
- Does each guest know how to get to your home?

A word of advice: When you make out the invitations, be sure to write the ways guests can contact you such as phone number, email address, etc. Enclose a map of your home too so every one doesn’t have a problem getting to your place.
