Games To Choose for A Baby Shower Party

Everyone, men and women alike, know that baby showers are parties/events that help expectant mothers with the cost of the baby. They help by providing her with gifts that can help her out in the baby’s early months. Usually, women are the ones who attend baby showers so games are often tailored to these guests. If you want everyone to fit in at the baby shower you are throwing, then follow these ideas listed below.

Just For Fun Baby Shower Games
If you are looking for games that are just for fun, there are many games you can choose from. Some include:

Bottle Ring Toss – Take the bottle nipples you get and put them in a container full of water. If you want, use a baby bathtub. Have guests stand at a distance and try throwing plastic rings to the nipples. The goal is to get those rings around the nipples.

Baby Hot Potato – To play this game, take a child’s toy instead of a potato and have guests pass it along. Set your timer. The person who gets caught with the toy is out. The game continues until one person is left and declared the winner.

Baby Song Musical Chairs – To play this game, you need one less chair than the guests that are playing. Guests will need to walk around the chairs while you play any kind of baby music. Be sure you stop the music suddenly and watch as each guest runs for a chair. The one who is kept standing is out. This continues until only one guest is left and determined the winner.

Balloon Popping Game – Make sure you write actions that guest must do on slips of paper. This can be anything including: eat a jar of baby food; suck liquid from a baby bottle, etc. Put these slips of paper in the balloon and blow them up. Have guests take a balloon. Once this is done, they should be instructed to sit on the balloon in order for it to pop. After this is done, they will have to complete their task. The first guest to do what the task asks wins the game.

Pin the Diaper on the Baby – For this game you will need a poster board and magic marker. Draw a picture of baby that is large enough to pin items on. On other pieces of paper, try out a pacifier, diaper, hat, rattle, etc. Guests will then have to be blindfolded so they can try to stick the item they have on the baby. The guest who is the closest wins the game.

Creative Baby Shower Games and Activities
There are many artistic things your guests can do for the mom-to-be. Have them create a scrapbook, decorate an onesie with puff paint or carve baby things out of soap. You can also have guest decorate a watermelon like a baby using markers or other materials. If you’d like, you can do a baby pageant contest after the watermelons have been decorated.

If you want activities of the sentimental variety, you can do one of two things: a time capsule. Guests can bring one thing from home for the baby to see later on or guests can plant a tree in honor of the baby. As the baby grows, so will the tree.

Want to hold the party outside? Play “Don’t Drop the Baby”. It’s played with full water balloons. Each guest will have a partner. Three balloons are given the partners and they must pass the balloons back and forth without dropping them.

Competitive Baby Shower Games
There are many competitive baby games that guests can play. Some include:

Go Diaper – Guests will stack diapers to see how high they can get them without toppling over.

Bottle Drinking – Guests can suck down on liquids of their choice. The first person to suck down their bottle wins the game.

Bob for Pacifiers – Place pacifiers in water and have your guests retrieve them, blindfolded. You can also do this with safety pins but these will have to be placed in a bowl of rice.

Bowling for Bottles – Set up ten bottles in a hallway or large room. Have guests roll a tennis ball or softball to knock the bottles over. Be sure to score pins like you would in regular bowling.

Highlight with Expectant Mother
Pregnant Balloon Race – Have your guests stuff their shirts with balloons and have a race in the yard. The “pregnant” guest who can cross the line first wins. Reward your guest with a prize. You are going to want pictures so keep the camera handy.

Highlight of Mom’s Job

Ask guests who would like to step in the guest of honor’s shoes. Ask them to do chores such as cleaning dishes, folding laundry, changing the baby, etc. Other guests should shout distractions. Be sure to time your guest. The one who completes the tasks first wins.

Feed the Baby: Have guest choose their partners. One guest should feed the other guest or in this instance “baby” a jar of baby food with a small spoon. The couple that finishes their entire jar first wins.

There are many games that can be played. All you have to do is look around and find the ones that are right for your planned baby shower.
