Twelve Baby Shower Games To Keep Guests Entertained
Most people know that having a baby is stressful but baby showers should never be a stressful time. They should be seen as fun and joyous. If you need help in making this happen, here are some competitive games for you and your guest to play.
Bottle Bonanza: Separate guests into teams of equal numbers. Hand each team a bottle. Have the first person in line place the bottle under their chin. Not using their hands, each member of the team will need to pass the bottle to other team members. Should the bottle drop to the floor or is touched by hand, the line will have to start over. The team that passes the bottle down the line first will win.
Bottle Chugging: Using bottles, have each guests suck down a liquid of their choice. Whoever is able to finishing “sucking” first is declared the winner.
Bowling for Bottles: Put 10 bottles in a bowling pin formation. Using a tennis ball or softball, roll the ball to knock the bottles down. Rules of regular bowling should be followed.
Ring in the Tub: Using the nipples from baby bottles, try throwing rings in the bathtub or other container holding water to get around the nipples. Guests will have to stand at a distance when they throw the rings.
If you have some extra diapers lying around, try these three games for a bit of fun.
Diaper the Baby: Using a poster board and marker, draw a large baby on it. Tack it up to the wall. Draw several baby diapers on sheets of paper. Use tape to diaper the baby. Each guest will need to be blindfolded, spun around and try to stick the paper on the baby’s bottom.
Diaper Skyscraper: Have each guest stack diapers to without them falling over.
Act like mom. Guests can act out a new mom’s role by placing several games. These include:
Bag Packing: Have guests pack a diaper bag with essential items. Give points for each item placed into the bag.
Distractions: Guests will have to do certain tasks in between distractions that are yelled out by other baby shower guests. The person able to complete all her tasks the fastest is the winner.
Feeding Frenzy: Guests will have to break up into pairs. Have one guests feed the other guest a jar full of baby food with a baby spoon. The first pair to eat the entire jar of baby food is the winners.
The Belly Bulge: Guests will need to fit as many balloons as possible under their shirts (to sympathize with the pregnant mother). They will have a short race with each other. The person who is able to pass the finish line without dropping a balloon wins.
Kiss the Baby: A doll should be used for this game. Guests will be required to kiss this baby doll. Once passed around, guests will have to kiss the mother exactly where the baby doll was kissed. (This should only be played if the mother is comfortable with this idea and/or if everyone knows each other well enough.)
Pacifiers aren’t just for babies. Adults can use them too.
Paci-bobbing: Fill a tub with water, throw in some pacifiers and have guests “bob” for them without the use of their hands.
